Eat Well and Feel Well

I always find happiness and comfort in food. For me, food is more than just something to eat; it is an experience and my source of happiness. No matter how my day has been, sitting down to enjoy a good meal makes everything seem right. Food has a way of making everything better, like a celebration even on an ordinary day.

Forming an Emotional Connection to Food

When I eat well, I feel like I am recharging, not physically but emotionally too. The sense of satisfaction after having a good bite is what keeps me going. Sometimes, I realize that my bad mood is simply because I haven’t had enough to eat. I think that food cravings are incredibly powerful; they can completely take over my thoughts and steer my mood in a positive direction. There are times when a certain food will pop up in my mind, and I can’t shake the thought until I finally get to eat it. These food cravings are reminders of how deeply my emotions are connected to food.

Food as Self-Care

Lately, food has also become an essential part of my self-care routine. When I’ve worked too hard or feel completely drained, I treat myself to some good food. On those days, I don’t cook. I let myself relax by ordering food and eating out. If I can’t buy a proper meal, I will grab chocolate to lift my mood. These small acts of self-care never fail to make me happy and remind me to take care of myself. Food is a powerful tool for stress relief and emotional well-being.

Comfort Foods

Here are some of my all-time favourite comfort foods that never fail to brighten my day:

  • Tandoori Chicken Pizza – Domino’s
  • Schezwan noodles
  • Chicken shawarma wrap
  • Gulab Jamun
  • Triple-thick chocolate shake – McDonalds

These foods never fail to brighten up my day. Give them a try or explore other foods and activities that bring you happiness whenever you need self-care! After all, when you eat well, you feel well.

About Feel Good Fridays

The idea of Feel Good Fridays started because we believe the simple things that bring a smile to our face are some of the best things. Smiling and laughing have been proven to reduce stress in our lives! When we smile or laugh, it releases neurotransmitters in our brain called endorphins, which are in charge of making us happy and helping to relieve stress.
