This summer, we partnered with the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence to launch a citywide subway ad campaign promoting Safe Horizon’s Hotline. The 24-Hour HOPE Hotline is a vital resource available to all New Yorkers, 24/7, 365 days a year, in 12 languages.
In train cars and stations throughout the MTA system, the campaign featured domestic violence survivor Celines, who found safety and support for her and her son through Safe Horizon’s services.
We were thrilled to see New Yorkers spot the ads and tag us on social media @SafeHorizon. Every post helped amplify the message and extend our reach even further. And we’ve seen meaningful results: August calls to our Hotline increased by 11% when compared with the same period the year before, and in September, the month directly following the campaign, calls to the Hotline increased by 20%, again when compared with the same period the year before. This means more people know how to get the support they deserve.
If you or someone you know needs support, call the HOPE Hotline at 1-800-621-4673 (HOPE). You are not alone—and help is just a call away.
