Safe Horizon Responds to Sean “Diddy” Combs Verdict

In the wake of the verdict in the Sean “Diddy” Combs case, we are reminded that for us, and for many survivors, this trial has always been about two fundamental principles: listening to and believing survivors, and dismantling the barriers that prevent them from speaking out.

While we are disappointed that Combs was acquitted of two charges of sex trafficking, we know that a jury’s verdict does not define the truth. Just because this wasn’t labeled sex trafficking in court doesn’t mean it wasn’t. This outcome doesn’t erase the courage of the survivors who came forward, or the power they’ve had in reshaping how the world understands sex trafficking.

We extend deep gratitude to Cassie, “Jane,” and the other survivors who testified. Your bravery has sparked a national conversation about coercion, control, and consent. We know that you put yourself on the line and we understand how hard that must have been. Because of your courageous testimony, you’ve reached millions and given voice to countless survivors across the country.

To all survivors—we stand with you, and are here for you in your journey toward healing, safety, and justice.
