Safe Horizon CEO Liz Roberts Joins Mayor-elect Mamdani’s Transition Committee on Community Safety

We are proud to announce that our CEO, Liz Roberts, has been appointed to serve on the Committee on Community Safety for Mayor-elect Mamdani’s transition team. Liz joined this group understanding that her seat reflects the experiences and needs of the broader survivor community in New York City—a community that includes 1 in 3 New Yorkers.

We enthusiastically support the incoming administration’s plans to develop the Department of Community Safety—including $40 million in new investment in survivor services—to prioritize solutions for mental health, violence prevention, and crisis response across the city.

Safety is a human right, and all New Yorkers deserve to be safe. Together, we are excited to turn vision into action with the Mamdani administration and other movement leaders.
